New Food Trucks Hitting Chicago Streets This Spring

Though there are plenty of amazing food trucks already rolling through Chicago on a daily basis, there's always room for a few more. Here are four new food trucks you should sniff out this spring.

Brown Bag Lunch Truck: Set to hit the road any day now, Brown Bag Lunch Truck will offer a range of barbecue eats with an Asian twist. Options like smoked brisket, pulled pork and adobo chicken will be accompanied by green mango slaw and one of their two spicy yet flavorful dips. Sides like coconut mashed potatoes and collard greens with sweet soy and toasted sesame will bring fresh flavors to traditional comfort foods.Follow @brownbagtruck on Twitter

Haute Sausage: It's about time we got a gourmet hot dog truck to troll the streets of Chicago. Haute Sausage will take on this lofty task at the end of the month when they start serving up upscale eats like chicken masala, barbecue bison and Moroccan lamb on gourmet buns. Though the lunchtime crowd will certainly be pleased, this truck will likely score some serious business during pre- and post-game partying near Chicago's baseball fields this summer.Follow @hautesausage on Twitter

The Slide Ride: Housed in a bright pink truck, The Slide Ride will serve of tasty sliders to the masses starting in mid-May. Though the truck has a retro theme, sliders like spicy pork bahn mi and black beans with tomatillo salsa are anything but. The Slide Ride will also offer glass bottles of Coke and great products from local retailers, like Red Hen Bakery buns for the sliders and Jiminy chips on the side.Follow @theslideride on Twitter

Wagyu Wagon: Though it won't make its first appearance until late June or early July, Waygu Wagon already has some serious buzz. Former Peninsula Chef (and Amazing Race contestant) Aaron Crumbaugh is the brains behind this operation, which will serve burgers, short ribs and other dishes made with wagyu (Japanese beef cattle). Creative sides like wagyu fat-fried Brussels sprouts with bacon vinaigrette will certainly make this food truck stand out from the rest of the herd.Follow @thewagyuwagon on Twitter
