New 'SNL' Cast: Cecily Strong, Aidy Bryant And Tim Robinson Hired As Featured Players For New Season

'SNL' Hires Three New Featured Players

"Saturday Night Live" has added three new featured players to the cast of the upcoming 2012-2013 season, NBC announced Monday morning. Aidy Bryant, Tim Robinson and Cecily Strong, all Chicago comics, will make their debut this Saturday during the 38th season premiere of the sketch show.

Last weekend, word leaked that Bryant and Robinson would likely join the show. Strong's background is also in sketch and improvisational theater in Chicago, the city that gave "SNL" the likes of Tina Fey, John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd and Bill Murray. Strong regularly performs at ImprovOlympic in Chicago and previously was in the Second City touring company.

Last season, longtime cast members Kristen Wiig and Andy Samberg left the show and earlier this summer it was announced that Abby Elliott also wouldn't be returning. Jason Sudeikis, who was previously expected to depart the cast, has yet to announce whether or not he will remain at "SNL" for the full season.

"Saturday Night Live" will begin the season on Saturday, September 15 with host Seth MacFarlane and musical guest Frank Ocean.
