New York City Soda Ban: What DoThink?

It's really happening: The New York City Board of Health approved a ban on the sale of large sugary-sweetened beverages on Thursday.

The decision means that any sort of sugar-sweetened beverages in cups bigger than 16 ounces can't be sold in NYC anymore. Exceptions apply to certain drinks, such as those where more than half is made from milk, or where more than 70 percent is comprised of fruit juice, DNA Info reported.

Since the news has been released, the reactions have been mixed in the social media sphere, with some saying this is a great first step for public health, and others saying the government is stepping too far.
