To quote R. Kelly's 2003 hit, "Ignition," "After the show is the after-party." While the following line doesn't exactly reflect our Fashion Week experience (we'll skip the hotel lobby, thank you), New York Fashion Week's after parties have certainly been worthy of singing about. In fact, some have been just as epic, if not more so, than the runway shows themselves.
Case in point: Marchesa's spring 2013 show, which Kim Kardashian and Kanye West attended , in addition to Stacy Keibler, Michelle Trachtenberg and Tyra Banks, turned into a dinner and after-party in the same evening. But, this was on the early side, New York City was just getting started.
Later in the night, we ran into Kate Bosworth at Proenza Schouler's Belvedere and Chandon-hosted after-party at Irving Plaza. Although the newly-engaged actress had already attended several shows this week including Theyskens' Theory, Altuzarra and Cushnie Et Ochs, she came out to celebrate the design duo's collection which was presented earlier in the day. "I loved the show." she said, explaining that it was one of her favorites, "I mean, it was really amazing." But the real question is, how did their Wednesday night bash, which featured a surprise performance by Ariel Pink, compare to the runway show and other fashion week parties? "This is a good one!" Bosworth exclaimed, looking around at the event at her fellow VIPs including her fiancé Michael Polish, Jenna Lyons of J. Crew and Jessica Alba.
Seeing young design talent like Jack McCullough and Lazaro Hernandez is part of the reason Bosworth attends New York Fashion Week in the first place. "My favorite thing about this fashion week is that I've had the opportunity to see a lot of the young American talent," the "Black Rock" actress told us.
