Yet another snow storm in New York City -- the second of three storms expected for the week -- is making for a terrible commute Wednesday morning.

New Yorkers woke up to nearly five inches of heavy, wet snow combined with freezing rain, causing major transportation headaches for the region.

As of 10 a.m., the MTA is reporting service disruptions to the 1, 2, 3, and 7 lines. Schools remain open, but all field trips are canceled. Metro-North service has been reduced by 18 percent.

Gov. Cuomo declared a state of emergency for the entire state due to some areas suffering from a salt shortage. Cuomo also ordered the shut down of 1-84.

NBC reports tens of thousands of people in New Jersey and thousands of New York City residents were without power.

Wednesday's snow comes ahead of yet another storm forecasted for the weekend.

For information on which streets have been cleared, check out the city's Plow Tracker.

Correction: An earlier version of this post included a story predicting anywhere from three to 30 inches of snow this upcoming weekend. That is almost definitely not happening.
