What the Dickens? A Christmas Carol Marathon

Dozens of amazing writers, editors, and performers including Ira Glass and Michael Kostroff, will gather for a marathon reading of Charles Dickens's holiday classic, A Christmas Carol. If you head out early, check in around noon for a Christmas carol performance from members of the wonderful New York City Master Chorale. All books are 10 percent off in honor of the festivities!

Jonathan Toubin Benefit

Brooklyn Bowl will be opening its doors for a special benefit show in honor of DJ Jonathan Toubin, who is currently in critical condition after a devastating, freak car accident occurred while staying in a hotel room in Portland, Oregon. Friends of Toubin including the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Heavy Trash, and Stabbing Eastward will be among the many performers, with all proceeds going towards Toubin's medical bills.

Critter & Guitari's ONOMONO_Party

Musical gizmos Critter & Guitari take their ingenius creations to Chelsea for an eclectic evening packed with live musical performances, an open bar sponsored by The Original Moonshine, and a celebration of the company's wonderfully, unique musical instruments. We hear there's a birthday too!

Charlie Brown Christmas (+live jazz performance!)

Brooklyn Lyceum puts a theatrical twist on the holiday classic, A Charlie Brown Christmas, with a live jazz trio performing all of Vince Guaraldi's songs from the soundtrack.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

Sunshine Cinema brings back a Christmas favorite with Tim Burton's stop-motion tale, The Nightmare Before Christmas. It's only around for two evenings (both showings at midnight), so make sure to catch the film in theaters once again!

Bowieball: The Ultimate Glam Rock Revolution

Price: $15 in advance, $20 day of show
Whether you're a Bowie fanatic or just love all things glam rock, join Le Poisson Rouge as they will be "celebrating the apex of electric excess" at Bowieball. And obviously, there will be hair and makeup makeovers available for partygoers to indulge in.

Unsilent Night
Where: Meet under arch in Washington Square Park
When: Saturday, 7PM
Price: Free
The audience becomes the performer, as Unsilent Night leads a chorus of boomboxes across Greenwich Village from Washington Square to Tompkins Square. While some portable music players will be distributed, the public is encouraged to bring their own gear for the fracas.
