NewFronts Lite: Same Booze; Less Content
This year's NewFronts, the boozy Bazaar in which web video makers try to lure rich brand advertisers, had lots of froth - but few new shows. This year some of the biggest players in years past, like Yahoo, didn't show up. And others, like AOL, focused on their partnerships and growing brand footprint. Still others, from Vice to the New York Times, keep trying. Steve spent all week sampling lots of vodka and some video clips. Through his hangover, we discuss why even as video viewing surges, the growth in 'hit' video is still hard to come by.
