'Newlyweds: The First Year': Bride Asked Bridesmaids To Lose Weight

Bravo is tackling marriage with its newest reality entry, "Newlyweds: The First Year." The show follows four couples through their first year together as man and wife, but actually picks up events before the big day. This allowed viewers to ssee the "Bridezillas" side of Kim.

She and her then-fiance, Alaska, are a self-proclaimed power couple who dated for six years before they finally tied the knot. As if to emphasize how power and control were important to them, Kim had a rather unorthodox request for all of her bridesmaids.

She went on to explain things, which didn't help her look more sympathetic at all. "I cannot imagine that I’m the slimmest one there and I just have ... a long line of ... chubby bridesmaids." So she asked all of the women to lose ten pounds.

Her argument was that when she had met all of her friends, and her sister, they were all smaller. And although the show never told viewers if her bridesmaids fulfilled her request, it didn't seem to matter to The Hollywood Reporter. They said that Kim was made to create "worthwhile" television drama.

The couple said that the drama has helped bring them closer together, telling The New York Daily News that filming the reality series has been like "therapy," helping them work out their issues. Sounds like a new line of business: reality television marriage therapy.

For now, the "therapy" continues on "Newlyweds: The First Year," Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo.

TV Replay scours the vast television landscape to find the most interesting, amusing, and, on a good day, amazing moments, and delivers them right to your browser.
