The NFL has fired a league official who sold a number of the “deflategate” footballs used during the AFC Championship Game, according to ESPN.

The official was one of a few NFL employees who helped handle the balls on the day of the game. He was supposed to give the footballs to a charity afterward, but “allegedly [sold] off some of those footballs on the side" instead, according to a transcript of ESPN reporter Adam Schefter’s report on the firing provided by PFT.

We reached out to the NFL for information but have yet to hear back.
