Vanessa Lachey couldn’t be more excited about having a baby with husband Nick Lachey, and plans to announce whether she is having a little boy or girl to friends and family at her upcoming baby shower.
“I left a family vacation to do press for 'Wipeout' and I found out [that she was pregnant] and had to keep it a secret until I flew back to Nick, so those were two long days," Vanessa tells me on the set of "New York Live." "I’m in my second trimester and we are going to find out the sex and share it with our family at the shower.”
Vanessa is still hosting ABC's "Wipeout," but says she will be finished shooting soon.
“You can be pregnant and bring a human into this world and still work,” says Vanessa. “[But] by months seven, eight, nine, I’m hoping it will be me with my feet up and a tub of ice cream.”
And although the couple have agreed upon a girl's name, Vanessa isn’t so sure she likes the name Nick hopes to call their baby if they have a boy.
“Nick has always wanted to name the baby Colin. I also said my husband would name the first boy and I will name the first girl. So I was like, if I have a boy, what do you want to name him? And he was, like, 'Colin.' And I never argued with him until I got married. I got pregnant, and then I said, ‘about that name!’ We have settled on a girl’s name. We both love it, but I can't say what it is.”
