Nick Casey Loses Midterm Election To Replace Shelley Moore Capito In Congress

Casey Loses Congressional Race

Democratic congressional candidate Nick Casey lost to Republican Alex Mooney in the race to replace Rep. Shelley Moore Capito in Congress.

Casey, a lawyer, was backed by several West Virginia Republicans in June. Mooney is a former Maryland state senator.

Capito faced West Virginia Secretary of State Natalie Tennant (D) on Tuesday and won the open Senate seat left by retiring Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D).
