Nicki Minaj Asks MTV Why She Didn't Get More VMA Nominations (UPDATE)

"If I was a different 'kind' of artist, 'Anaconda' would be nominated for best choreo and vid of the year as well."

The nominees for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards were announced on Tuesday and -- though Nicki Minaj was nominated for Best Female Video and Best Hip-Hop Video for "Anaconda," and was also nominated for Best Collaboration for "Bang Bang," with Jessie J and Ariana Grande -- the rapper wasn't happy.

Specifically, Minaj took issue with the fact that "Anaconda" failed to garner nominations for Video of the Year and in the professional category of Best Choreography (Casper Smart was behind the video's moves). She was also confused as to how her's and Beyonce's song, "Feeling Myself," failed to be nominated for anything.

In a series of tweets, the 32-year-old laid out her issues with the VMA nominations:

After pausing for a few hours, she took to Twitter again:

Minaj's tweet about videos that celebrate "women with very slim bodies" prompted Taylor Swift, who is nominated for four awards including Video of the Year for "Bad Blood" to write:

Minaj shot back:

But then Swift invited Minaj to join her on stage if the "Bad Blood" singer wins:

Minaj was not impressed with Swift's offer and she retweeted a fan who felt Swift was making excuses:

The rapper then followed up with her own tweet:

Update: Swift has now apologized.
