When Nicole Atkins was in high school, classmates, she says, made fun of her for having a voice like a goat.

I don't get it.

Listen here to Atkins perform two songs, one off her most recent album, Mondo Amore, and you'll hear one of the most beautiful voices today. Atkins, who was on the The Interview Show earlier this fall when we brought the show to Union Hall in Brooklyn, also talks about growing on the Jersey Shore, sleeping in a truck (but not in a Jewel-like way) and what makes a great break-up album.

Have a look, and check out Atkins' new free live EP here.
