Man Who Changed Nike's Policy After 'Muslim' Incident Speaks Out

"Never in a million years did I think anyone from Nike would ever respond to a Facebook post that I wrote late one night."

When Nike fan Nabeel Kaukab visited the company's website last month trying to customize a pair of Air Jordan shoes, an error message popped up when he tried to imprint the word "Muslim" on the sneakers. "This word doesn't fit our guidelines for acceptable use," it read, according to Kaukab.

After being able to put other religious words, like "Jewish" and "Christ," on the shoes, Kaukab took to Facebook and wrote an open letter to Nike, calling the company out. In the video above, watch Kaukab and Kate Meyers, the senior director of Nike Global Communications, explain how the post led the company to change its policy.
