Ever since New Orleans relaxed city-wide restrictions on mobile food trucks in July 2013, there has been a proliferation of food trucks in NOLA. Although allowing food trucks to operate and vend deliciousness in NOLA seems like it would be a no-brainer–food trucks do merge NOLA’s street culture and culinary traditions quite nicely–the New Orleans Food Truck Coalition staged a year-long campaign before the New Orleans City Council decided to pass new mobile vending legislation that would allow the trucks to operate.

The community surrounding New Orleans’ food trucks is quite vibrant and the trucks bring together a diverse array of culinary traditions. Here are some of my favorite food trucks in New Orleans. Curious where in NOLA they’ll be next? Find ‘em on social media!

Whenever your taco cravings strike, Taceaux Loceaux, Uptown New Orleans’ best gourmet taco truck, hits the spot. In addition to fare like BBQ brisket tacos, Taceaux Loceaux serves vegetarian and vegan options aplenty. These guys have a brick-and-mortar location in the Lower Garden District, too. You can be sure their restaurant fare won’t disappoint Taceaux Loceaux’s dedicated following.
