Nook: Barnes & Noble's New E-Reader Challenges Kindle With Color Screen, Equal Pricetag

Book seller Barnes & Noble Inc. has released its new e-book reader, the Nook.

The e-reader, which has a dual-screen monochrome and color touchscreen, is priced at $259 and will ship by the end of November, with pre-orders available starting October 20.

The Nook comes with an electronic paper display (that supposedly makes it possible to "Read in bright sunlight as clearly as inside your home"), can connect wirelessly to the Barnes & Noble online store so you can download e-books (and sample them), and a 3.5 inch color touchscreen LCD at the base of the reader.
