North Carolina has felt the economic impact of passing an anti-LGBT law last month as several businesses have withdrawn plans to invest in the state and musicians have canceled concerts.
The law does not include anti-discrimination protections for LGBT individuals and blocks local municipalities from passing additional protections for them. The bill also requires people to use public bathrooms that correspond to the gender they were assigned at birth.
Even as North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory (R) has continued to defend the law, it has cost the state millions in lost tourism revenue.
