North Coast Music Festival 2012: Lineup Includes Pretty Lights, Big Boi, Steve Aoki (PHOTOS)

PHOTOS: North Coast Music Festival Lineup Unveiled

Chicago's North Coast Music Festival on Tuesday unveiled the initial lineup of acts playing its third-annual edition this Labor Day weekend in Union Park.

Headliners among the electronic, jam and hip-hop-oriented festival's "first wave" of acts include Pretty Lights, Atmosphere, Big Boi, Steve Aoki, YACHT, Dan Deacon and The Rapture. DJs Steve Angello and Axwell, both of Swedish House Mafia, also are slated to play the festival.

As Time Out Chicago notes, the lineup is still likely to evolve considerably before it is finalized, as last year many headliner-level acts were not announced by festival organizers right off the bat.

RedEye reports that the festival -- which bills itself as "summer's last stand" -- sold a limited number of $62 festival passes through a Groupon early Tuesday, but that bargain sold out after all of a half hour.

Regular-priced tickets for the three-day festival are still available for $110 (plus a nearly $18 service charge). VIP three-day passes will set you back nearly $400 after service charges are factored in. Last year, tickets to two of the event's three days sold out. Single-day tickets to the 2012 festival are not yet available.

Last week, the more affordable, electronic-geared Wavefront Music Festival, to be held June 30-July 1 on Montrose Beach, also announced its lineup, which boasts Duck Sauce, Erick Morillo, Sasha and Boys Noize.
