Northwest Side Sexual Assault Suspect Sketch Released: Man Wanted For 15 Attacks

Suspect Wanted In 15 Sexual Attacks On City's Northwest Side

Police released a sketch Monday of a man suspected in several sexual assaults and attempts in Chicago's Humboldt Park and Wicker Park neighborhoods.

At a press conference Monday, investigators described the suspect in as many as 15 sexual assaults since July 11 as a black male between 20 and 28 years old, about 6 feet tall and weighing 170-180 pounds, with a scar or tattoo, possibly a teardrop, under his right eye, WGN reports. In multiple recent incidents, the suspect has demanded money and then attempted to sexually assault women traveling alone.

In two recent attacks, a 29-year-old woman was approached by a man armed with a knife around 1:30 a.m., who forced himself into the entryway of her building and tried to sexually assault her, according to NBC. About 20 minutes later, a woman found a man matching the same description in her kitchen, who also had a knife and tried to sexually assault her.

In both attacks, the suspect fled when his victims called for help, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Anyone with about the man in the sketch is asked to call Chicago police at (312) 744-8261.
