I wasn't going to blog today, because I don't want to hog too much space on HuffPo . . . but something happened that made me change my mind.
First some background. Monday I wrote a blog called Am I Crazy Paranoid . . . ?. In it I described how I had discovered that a very secret privat, paramilitary propaganda group, THE RENDON GROUP, had suddenly taken an interest in my blog.
Tuesday I gave an in-depth account of everything I had learned about THE RENDOND GROUP in a blog called How a Public Relations Firm Helped Start the War.
And today I learned something new.
Because of my last blog THE DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY is suddenly scrutinizing what I'm writing. And they've never visited my blog before. They did, however, take an in-depth interest (one hour fourty minutes) in that last blog I wrote.
You don't believe me?

So what's going on here?
Is my blog suddenly monitored because I wrote an in-depth story about THE RENDON GROUP?
Absolutely yes.
Why?
That's a good question.
The most benign answer is that the DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY trolls blogs and collects "open source" information in their war on terror. Should they be allowed to do that? Sure.
Does it mean the government is monitoring what you write on the Huffington Post?
Yep.
Does it make me really uncomfortable that they are scrutinizing my blogs?
You bet.
If this is my last blog you know that something happened. And that's the reason I got this blog out today.
Oh, and one more thought. What is most hilarious is that both the super secret RENDON GROUP and HOMELAND SECURITY, are not smart enough to use software to hide their identity and IP address. That tells me a lot about both organizations.
