NYC Foot Locker Foundation Gets Students 'On Their Feet'

Two weeks ago, the New York City Foot Locker Foundation held its ninth annual "On Our Feet" charity event to raise money for the United Negro College Fund (UNCF). The event provides UNCF with a scholarship program that mentors deserving students.

UNCF is the largest minority education organization in the nation, supporting 39 member colleges and universities and over 55,000 students. The UNCF awards scholarships to more than 9,000 students at over 900 colleges nationwide, advocating the importance of education.

Professional athletes and celebrities were in attendance, including actor Mickey Rourke, hip hop legend Doug E. Fresh and basketball star Dennis Rodman. All were clad in black-tie attire appropriately finished off with a pair of their favorite athletic shoes.
