Much has been made of Shia LaBeouf's role in Lars Von Trier's "Nymphomaniac," the erotic thriller which features explicit sex scenes -- or does it?
In an interview with THR, LaBeouf's co-star Stellan Skarsgard threw cold water on the hopes of LaBeouf-obsessed moviegoers. "When we call this a porno, it's meant ironically but irony doesn't work well in print," Skarsgard told THR."The film is sexually explicit but, believe me, it will be a very, very bad wanking movie."
He also said "body doubles" and "visual effects" will be used.
That doesn't exactly match up with the story LaBeouf has been telling. Here's what he told MTV back in August: "There's a disclaimer at the top of the script that basically says we're doing it for real. Everything that is illegal, we'll shoot in blurred images. Other than that, everything is happening."
Given that the script traces the sexual history of a woman from birth to the age of 50, fans and critics concluded that the "Even Stevens" and "Transformers" star would engage in explicit sex acts on camera. LaBeouf also said he got the part by sending Von Trier a homemade sextape.
As we previously reported, "Nymphomaniac" will hardly be LaBeouf's first indie film. Beyond the recently released "Lawless," the actor also appears in Robert Redford's "The Company You Keep" and "The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman," directed by Fredrik Bond.
