NYU Professor Gets Camera Implanted In Head For Art (VIDEO)

WATCH: FOR THE LOVE OF ART: NYU Professor Gets Camera Implanted In Head

NYU Professor and artist Wafaa Bilal had a camera surgically implanted onto his head for an art project called "The 3rd I." Commissioned for the December 30 opening of Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art in Qatar, the images captured will be broadcast to the museum. Addressing the ubiquity of cameras in our lives, he seeks to explore the state of privacy (or lack thereof) in our society. Ironically, despite the project's aims, due to outrage over the issue of his students' privacy, he will be required to wear a lens cap when on campus. The camera will remain in place capturing Bilal's quotidian routine for a year.
