Oak Park Named One Of The Top Ten Neighborhoods In The Nation

Striking the perfect balance between lively city and historical hub, west suburban Oak Park has been named one of the top ten neighborhoods in the United States.

This week, the American Planning Association named Oak Park the third best neighborhood in the U.S.--and their Frank Lloyd Wright Historic District contributed to the recognition.

The neighborhood "contains the world's single greatest concentration of residences designed by architects collectively known as the Prairie School," the American Planning Association said on its website. "The extraordinary range of architecture illustrates Oak Park's evolution from rural village to urban suburb."

Frank Lloyd Wright moved to Oak Park in 1889 and the neighborhood has 23 buildings that he designed or remodeled.
