Cafe Has Amazing Response To Broken Window After Zimmerman Protests

As news broke Saturday of the acquittal of George Zimmerman in the shooting of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin, protests flared in Oakland, Calif., leading to nine arrests as demonstrators broke windows, lit small fires and ignited fireworks in the city's streets.

Rather than condemn protesters, Cortt Dunlap, who owns Awaken Cafe in downtown Oakland, decided to use his storefront's broken window to send a message. He posted the below sign in the smashed window:

"Our window was smashed on Saturday," Dunlap told The Huffington Post. "When we came in on Monday morning, we watched as journalists and passersby took photo after photo after photo of our broken window. But what we really should be talking about is not the window. We decided to put the focus back on what really matters."
