Obama Ad: McCain Is "Country Club" Republican

Democrats were ecstatic after the Obama campaign released yesterday's hard-hitting ad on John McCain's house gaffe, and there are no signs of let-up.

A new Obama spot released this afternoon, "Out of Touch," accuses McCain of practicing "country club economics," and hammers him on a range of statements about the economy. "How many houses does he own? John McCain says he can't even remember anymore. Well, it's seven. No wonder McCain just said the fundamentals of our economy are strong, and anyone making less than five-million-dollars-a-year is middle-class."

The Obama campaign says they've dispatched surrogates and supporters to 9 battleground states to talk about "how out of touch all of Senator McCain's years in Washington have made him."

Some Dems are even using the furor over McCain's houses to draw attention to issues unrelated to the campaign. News broke yesterday that the White House "is missing as many as 225 days of e-mail dating back to 2003 and there is little if any likelihood a recovery effort will be completed by the time the Bush administration leaves office, according to an internal White House draft document."

Rep. Rahm Emanuel told the Huffington Post, "In the last two days, we learned that the White House can't keep track of its e-mails and John McCain can't keep track of his houses."
