Obama Goes Two For 22 On White House Basketball Court

President Obama had a rough day on the White House basketball court on Monday, missing 20 out of 22 attempts while shooting hoops during the White House Easter Egg Roll.

Stopping by the fitness-themed event on the White House grounds, Obama joined a group of children and members of the NBA's Washington Wizards on the court. He took 14 shots before finally sinking one. A pool report offered details:

Obama started to take shots amid the kids and pros.

Miss. Miss. Off the rim. Miss. Miss. Off the rim. Airball.

He moved closer to the net.

But time and again, he missed. Of 22 shots POTUS took, he made two. (22 was general consensus of poolers)

At one point, POTUS handed a ball to a boy and asked for help. The boy made the layup.

"He couldn't make one. I had to help him out," said Kahron Campbell, 10, of Landover, MD.

Obama, an avid basketball fan, plays regularly on courts in federal buildings around Washington, often with Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, a former Harvard basketball team captain. Basketball also became an election day tradition for Obama during the 2008 presidential campaign, when he made a habit of playing during the Democratic primaries.

Last year, NBA commissioner David Stern threw cold water on Obama's basketball skills.

"He's not that good," Stern said. "He's a lefty-- he goes the same way every time."
