Obama: Thought Of Gender Discrimination Against Daughters "Makes My Blood Boil"

As Senator John McCain was acidly questioning Senator Barack Obama's judgment on matters of war and peace at a veterans' convention in Orlando, Mr. Obama was speaking soothingly to a couple dozen women in a public library in Albuquerque.

A few moments later, he referred to his young daughters and said he hoped that by the time they were grown, discrimination against women in the workplace will have ended.

"My daughters - I don't want them to ever confront a situation where they are disadvantaged because of their gender," Mr. Obama said. "The thought of it makes my blood boil. That's what we're fighting for."
