Rep. Trey Radel (R-Fla.) became the second House Republican this week to suggest that President Barack Obama could be impeached over his executive actions on gun violence.
In an interview with conservative blog "The Shark Tank," Radel, a Tea Party-backed freshman, argued that impeachment should be "on the table" as a measure to combat what he characterized as an overreach by the president.
“It is one of those times in our history, we are at this breaking point,” Radel said. “We have completely lost our checks and balances in this country, the Congress needs to hold the president accountable for the decisions that he’s making right now, and that why again, I would say that all options should be on the table.”

On Wednesday -- after Radel's remarks -- Obama unveiled a comprehensive plan to address the issue of gun violence. It included a package of 23 executive actions primarily focused on background checks, law enforcement training and prioritization and the nation's mental healthcare system.
In his comments, Radel joins fellow Republican congressman Steve Stockman of Texas, who on Monday made a threat to file articles of impeachment against Obama, calling the president's then-unknown actions an "existential threat to this nation."
