Obama Pats Little Boy On Head, Makes 3-Year-Old Keifer Petersen's Day

Obama Makes Little Kid's Day

Three-year-old Keifer Petersen might not have washed his hair Tuesday night, after receiving a pat on the head from President Barack Obama during a campaign stop at the Pump Haus in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

Petersen had approached the president, jumping up and down in front of him as he broke from a group of patrons to buy a Bud Light at the bar, according to a pool report from the New York Times' Helene Cooper.

"Hey man," Obama said to Petersen, before reaching down and patting him on the head.

Petersen then ran to his mother and excitedly told her, "I'm a man!"

While Petersen got the pat this time, Obama has also been known to be on the receiving end of famous head pats.

Keifer is the son of Bruce and Johna Petersen, owners of the Pump Haus, an evening stop for Obama on Tuesday as he makes his way across Iowa on a campaign bus tour.

The president has so far made a point of dropping in for a nightly cold one as he continues on his three-day Midwest swing. On Monday, Obama visited the Iowa State Fair in Des Moines, visiting the Bud Tent to shake hands. He ended up picking up the tab for more beers than he'd originally anticipated after he was showered with chants of "Four more beers," a request that he reportedly obliged. The owner of the tent later said he was displeased with Obama's appearance, because it caused him to lose business.

On Tuesday, Obama also handed out a bottle of his White House home brew to a patron at Coffee Connection in Knoxville, Iowa.
