It was a big day for Barack Obama, and not just because the president participated in a "Meet the Candidate" forum for Univision at the University of Miami.
He got his very own hamburger.
Yep, the "American Classic" cheeseburger at OMG! Burgers in South Miami ($6.49) will now be known as the "Presidential Cheeseburger," thanks to Obama's surprise stop Thursday for a patty and fries.
“He made us famous for a day, so we really appreciate him coming to our restaurant,” OMG! owner Abiel Ballesteros told the Miami Herald.
Obama dropped into the Sunset Place restaurant and chowed down during a roundtable with UM students Maximo Soler and Emily Young and Barry University student Leslie Redmond.
According to pool reports, the president experienced some sticker shock -- but it didn't come as he added fries ($2.19) to his order. Instead, it happened after he asked the students about the cost of UM tuition.
"$44,0000," replied Soler, according to Obama Foodorama, prompting an incredulous president to exclaim, "$44,000? Wow."
Also incredulous: the waitress who served Obama had no idea he'd be coming into the restaurant.
"I'm still ... I haven't come back to my body yet, I'm still flying around," she told WSVN. "I will be back."
