Pro-Obama Super PAC Raises $15.2 Million In September

WASHINGTON -- The primary super PAC backing President Barack Obama's reelection campaign, Priorities USA Action, will report raising $15.2 million for the month of September when it files its monthly report with the Federal Election Commission (FEC) on Saturday.

The amount surpasses the amount raised by the pro-Mitt Romney super PAC Restore Our Future, which raised $14.8 million in September. This is the second straight month that Priorities USA Action raised more money than Restore Our Future.

"Democrats know that this race is even closer than we thought it would be and if we're going to close this deal, everybody has to get involved," Priorities USA Action executive director Bill Burton told The Huffington Post.

Overall, Restore Our Future has raised significantly more than Priorities USA Action. The pro-Romney group has pulled in $112 million to Priorities' approximately $62 million.

Fundraising numbers for the two groups, however, has been much closer since Romney became the Republican Party's presidential nominee in May. From May through September, Restore Our Future raised $54.9 million, compared to $40.2 million raised by Priorities USA Action.
