President Barack Obama released his 2012 federal and state income tax returns Friday. The president and First Lady reported a total income of $608,611. They paid $112,214 in total tax, for an effective rate of 18.4 percent. They donated $150,034 to charity. The Obamas paid $29,450 to the state of Illinois.
