President Barack Obama's official Twitter account expressed support Tuesday for Wendy Davis, the Texas Democrat aiming to filibuster a GOP-backed abortion bill in the state legislature.

The account is run by Organizing for Action, the advocacy group formed out of Obama's presidential campaign organization.

Davis, a Democratic state senator, announced Tuesday that she would attempt to speak for 13 hours straight to stave off a bill that would ban abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy and severely limit women's access to abortions across the state.

Obama's tweet came as Davis' filibuster entered its ninth hour.
