The Obamas' New York City Home Is Stunning (Or So We Imagine)

While the Obamas have roots in places like Hawaii, Chicago and Martha's Vineyard, it seems they're going to be seeking a fresh start come 2016 -- sort of. According to New York magazine, the President might be eyeing a home in the Big Apple when his term ends in two years, a place that he called home during his days as a college student at Columbia University in the early '80s.

In preparation for the first family's return to NYC, we played real estate matchmaker with a little help from our friends at Move.com and Core Group real estate and picked out a few possible post-presidential homes.

Which of these other white houses do you think suits the Obamas best?

93 Worth Street, PH2
Price tag: $7,550,000Why it works: This penthouse might be short one bedroom (sorry, Ms. Marian), but the building's panoramic city views, rooftop kitchen station and dog-washing station (you're welcome, Bo) more than make up for it.
419 East 57th Street, PHAB
Price tag: $6,995,000Why it works: No voting, er, board approval required.
763 Greenwich St.
Price tag: $22,000,000Why it works: This Greenwich Village townhouse features two gardens -- one on the rooftop and a private one out back -- that we're certain will make Michelle Obama proud.
610 Park Ave., # 2-Bc
Price tag: $20,000,000Why it works: The marble gallery where you enter the apartment feels just like a wing of the White House.
765 Park Ave.
Price tag: $16,800,000Why it works: Michelle would love the duplex's brand-new kitchen featuring a walk-in pantry, wine closet and a beautiful windowed breakfast room.
737 Park Ave., Apt. 6C
Price tag: $14,995,000Why it works: This apartment's close proximity to Central Park means the Obamas can jog (or bike) whenever they'd like, while nearby Hunter College, which Obama called "one of the best colleges in the country" might be a good choice for eldest daughter Malia who'll be off to college come 2016.
400 E. 51st St., PH 30
Price tag: $8,950,000Why it works: Five bedrooms means grandma can move in, too.
30 Crosby St., Apt. 4B
Price tag: $8,500,000Why it works: At one time, this sliver of lower west Manhattan sent almost all of its presidential campaign contributions to Barack Obama. Plus, Sasha Obama likes to shop nearby.
222 E. 62nd St.
Price tag: $14,200,000Why it works: The Obamas wouldn't be the first celebs on this block. The wide tree-lined street has provided quiet sanctuary to such notable New York personalities as Martin Scorcese, Maria Bartaromo, and Tom Wolfe.
25 E. 77th St.
Price tag: $60,000,000Why it works: Located inside the five-star Mark Hotel, this penthouse features two bars (cheers!) and his and hers master baths. And with residents given 24-hour access to hotel services, including its own Frederick Fekkai Salon, that means Michelle and her bangs (or other post-First Lady 'do) won't miss a style beat.
