Obama's Speech Suggests US Might Not 'Win' In Afghanistan

Throughout the campaign, Barack Obama argued that he would win the war against the Taliban and Al Qaeda in Afghanistan. Unlike his opponents, he said, his record of judgment wasn't sullied with a vote for the Iraq war. In August, 2007, he fended off charges of foreign-policy naivete coming from the likes of Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden with a speech on Afghanistan titled "The War We Need to Win."
