If you're looking for honest news on Africa, here's a dose from Nigerian songstress Nneka. In this powerful short doc, she dishes on Nigerians' growing dissatisfaction with the "Vagabonds in Power", her country's tricky relationship to oil, and her involvement in the historical "Occupy Nigeria" movement earlier this year. The new face of Reebok Europe, Nneka is using her growing international fame to "speak out the minds of the many," addressing social and political issues in the same soul-laden breath as everyday love and loss. Her latest album 'Soul Is Heavy' is up to the task. The documentary was directed by Sam Bathrick for Native Resonance Productions, with help from Sahara Reporters, which supplied home video footage from the demonstrations in Nigeria.
