Occupy Wall Street Wedding: Couple Marries In Zuccotti Park (PHOTOS)

Occupy encampments across the nation are proving to be much like the larger cities they're built within. The pitfalls of city life -- drug abuse, violence, death -- are a constant presence in many locales. But so too are the surprising pleasures of urban density -- like bumping into the person you're going to marry right in the middle of your neighborhood.

That's exactly what happened for Occupy Wall Street protestors, Emery Abdel-Latif, 24, and Micha Balon, 19, who met when both were searching for a place to pray in New York's Zuccotti Park. After meeting less than six weeks ago, the Muslim couple tied the knot on Sunday at the demonstration site.

"Neither of us believed in love before we came here, and now that we found each other, we believe it exists," Abdel-Latif told the New York Daily News. "When I came up here, this was the farthest thing from my mind but it's happening. I'm just happy."

This is the second wedding at an Occupy encampment, the first was held last month at Occupy Philadelphia. In October, a man proposed to his girlfriend using a human megaphone at Occupy Wall Street.
