Octavia Spencer vs. Beverly Johnson: Who Wore This Black-And-White Frock Best? (PHOTOS)

Who Wore It Best?

While there were countless stars shining around New Orleans this past weekend for the 2013 Essence Festival a few stood out from the rest -- like fashion legend Beverly Johnson.

The 60-year-old supermodel, who was Vogue's first black cover girl, stepped out for the McDonald's 365 Black Awards in a black-and-white Tadashi Shoji dress with coordinating heels. As one of the event's honorees, Beverly definitely chose the right on-trend design to turn heads.

However, the beautiful lace overlay cocktail dress also caught the eye of Octavia Spencer who gave Beverly some stiff competition when she rocked the frock last night at the New York City screening of her new film "Fruitvale Station." The Oscar-winning actress opted for a simpler look with a blunt bang, red lip and black pointy-toed pumps.

In this "bitch stole my look" battle, we're going to have give the win to Ms. Spencer. Although Beverly looks lovely, we're not huge fans of matchy-matchy ensemble.

See y'all, supermodels don't always win!

Here's a look at the ladies in the Tadashi Shoji dress. Who do you think rocked it best?
