I know this seems like something you'd see in the Onion, but I'm pretty certain this lady is dead serious. Or at least she's serious about her wacky sense of humor. Known only as Pink Mama, she hosts a rather odd website through which she offers advice to the public by channeling the spirit of a dead, three-legged squirrel named Pearl.

No, I'm not making this up.

She seems to be a licensed wildlife rehabilitator in California who rescued and took care of an injured squirrel that could not be released back into the wild. The squirrel has since passed, but judging by the many opportunities to make PayPal donations on the site, I'm guessing it's a creative and entertaining fundraising effort to support her wildlife rehab work, although I could be wrong about this.

Either way, she does give sound advice on what to do should you find an injured or orphaned wild animal. For me, as a naturalist with the National Wildlife Federation and blogger for Animal Planet, this is nice to hear.

Pink Mama doesn't only work with squirrels, either. She's also partial to opossums. In this video, you can even learn the proper technique for giving an opossum a pedicure. Again, I'm not making this up.

In the video below, Pink Mama tells the story of Pearl the (dead) squirrel. Enjoy!
