Olivia Wise, the teen whose breathtaking cover of Katy Perry's "Roar" moved the Internet, passed away on Monday.
The 16 year-old from Toronto, who had been battling brain cancer, visited a studio to record her own version of the feel-good pop anthem earlier this year. Using just a piano in the background, the young singer gave new meaning to the song by transforming it into a hauntingly beautiful ballad. Since uploaded in October, the video has gone viral reaching over 1 million views.

Olivia's inspiring cover even caught the attention of the original "Roar" singer herself, who had a few words to say to the teen.
"I love you. A lot of people love you, and that's why your video got to me and it moved everyone that saw it," said Katy Perry in a personalized video message to Olivia.
Olivia's cover can be purchased on iTunes. According to the Toronto Sun, all proceeds go to brain tumor research via the Liv Wise Fund.
