Olsen Twins' Style Evolution: From Matching Child-Stars To Mature Fashionistas

Remember When The Olsen Twins Always Matched?

In their first 26 years of life, the Olsen twins have accomplished more than most of us will in a lifetime. Mary-Kate and Ashley shared a lead role on the family TV sitcom "Full House" before toddlerhood, starred in an extremely popular serious of tween films including "Billboard Dad", "Passport to Paris" and "Double, Double, Toil and Trouble", and to top it all off, helm their own highly-praised fashion label called The Row, which just won Womenswear Designer of the Year at the CFDAs. Yet style has always been a major part of the Olsen twins' world.

When they were younger, it was rare to see Mary-Kate and Ashley in outfits that didn't match. As teenagers, each incorporated unique flairs into their personal wardrobes. These days, the Olsen twins are known mostly for their layered looks, often wearing statement jackets, scarves and fur stoles atop couture pieces. Mary-Kate credited this change to their move from California to New York City, where the weather can demand an overload of clothes. Spending hours in front of the mirror organizing perfectly coordinated ensembles may not be the case now, but the girls still have their shared quirks.

To celebrate Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's 26th birthday on Wednesday, June 13th, we're taking a look back at their style over the years. Do you secretly wish they still wore adorable matching outfits, or would it be too corny today?
