Before he became president of the United States, Donald Trump was apparently just a man kicking a boy band out of his hotel for not taking the time to meet his daughter.

At least that’s the story Liam Payne, of the temporarily disbanded One Direction, is going with in a recent interview for Rollacoaster.

Apparently, the pop group was unaware that all famous guests must first meet Trump’s daughter or would be kindly escorted in a different direction, i.e., out of the building. Payne doesn’t specify whether the daughter in question was Tiffany or Ivanka, but TBQH, we could envision either fangirling over 1D.

“Trump actually kicked us out of his hotel once,” Payne told Rollacoaster, as reported by NME. “You wouldn’t believe it. It was about [meeting] his daughter. He phoned up our manager and we were asleep. He said, ‘Well, wake them up’ and I was like, ‘No’ and then he wouldn’t let us use the underground garage. Obviously in New York we can’t really go outside. New York is ruthless for us.”

“So he was like, ‘OK, then I don’t want you in my hotel,’” he continued. “So we had to leave.”

America, brace yourselves for a Trump tweetstorm in 3, 2, 1 ...

The Huffington Post has reached out to Payne’s representatives and will update this post accordingly.
