Online Wedding: Soldier, Fiance Married Over Skype (VIDEO)

WATCH: Soldier Marries Over Skype

All one Georgia couple needed for their wedding was a good internet connection.

NBC Augusta reported that a soldier married his fiance over Skype on Sunday, while stationed in Afganistan.

Jaqueline Durham said that after two years of dating, her then-boyfriend, Trey Durham, suggested getting married using Skype (he is expected to return home early this year).

“He’s like, 'What do you think about that? Do you want to do that?' And I was like, 'Of course.' Since we can’t be together, it’d make it special,” Jaqueline said.

So Trey gathered with his fellow soldiers in Afganistan while Jaqueline gathered with their family at home in Georgia, and the two said their vows using Skype. Watch the video above for more on Trey and Jaqueline's online wedding.

A California couple also used Skype to get married in March 2011 when a sudden illness sent the groom the the hospital days before the planned nuptials. And earlier this month, a soldier gave his best man speech over Skype as he is deployed in Afganistan.
