These Vintage Videos Show That Oprah Was Always The Greatest

O-MG: Oprah Was Always Amazing

In honor of Oprah's 60th birthday, we at HuffPost Media decided to bring you this glimpse at another side of the talk show legend/extraordinary actress/icon of history/Instagrammer. Yes, this is "Anchor Oprah" we're talking about.

Before her talk show changed the world forever and nothing was ever the same again, Oprah had a bunch of different television jobs. She hosted the evening news in Baltimore in the late 70s, and then co-hosted a local talk show called, appropriately enough, "People Are Talking."

Here's a clip of that show featuring Oprah talking to "sex researcher and psychologist C.A. Tripp":

After that, Oprah moved to Chicago, the city that made her fortune. She hosted another local talk show called "AM Chicago," which she then parlayed into "The Oprah Winfrey Show." Here she is talking to Norman Mailer, of all people. The first question is about "how to be a winner at love":

But our favorite early Oprah clip might be this one, from 1984, when she anchored an edition of the local ABC newscast. If you ever wanted to watch Oprah say the words "leading police to suspect a homosexual murder," here's your chance:

We also love this one, which features Oprah openly laughing at footage of then-Vice President George H.W. Bush falling down while bowling:

Of course, in all of these clips, Oprah remains amazing. Because she is Oprah.
