It was only a matter of time before this happened: United Airlines flew its inaugural flight from its new headquarters in Chicago to Los Angeles on the "Oprah plane," according to CNN.

United decided to pay homage to the hometown gal in her last season with a plane decorated with her logo and "The Final Season" written across it.

Mark Berglund, the SVP of Marketing for United, said in a statement: "As Chicago's hometown airline, United is proud to celebrate The Oprah Winfrey Show's Farewell Season with our customers, employees and 'Oprah' show fans. This unique plane represents the global reach of two great Chicago icons."

The plane will fly customers between LA and Chicago through, you guessed it, May 2011. Oprah even taped an onboard welcome to passengers.
