'Oprah's Next Chapter': Neil Patrick Harris Sought Therapy To Help Him Bond With His Twins (VIDEO)

'Oprah's Next Chapter': NPH Struggled To Bond With His Twins

Neil Patrick Harris is and has always been a proud poppa to his now 2-year old twins. But that doesn't mean it's always been easy for the new father. On "Oprah's Next Chapter" (Sun., 9 p.m. ET on OWN), the actor opened up about the struggles he had in bonding emotionally with his son and daughter during the first months of their lives.

"When they’re so little and they’re just crying," he admitted. "I just didn’t -- I don’t know what’s wrong." Harris even talked to a therapist about his struggles in connecting with them. Meanwhile, the "How I Met Your Mother" star focused on being a good provider for them financially.

But it was the emotional connection he needed to make, and finally he was able to overcome his earlier inhibitions and bond with the twins. It was clear to see that he adored the children, and the bond between them was evident even during the episode, as was the love between Harris and his fiance David Burtka.

The pair even took to Twitter to talk about their experience with Oprah Winfrey, commenting on how easy it was to open up to her.
