Oprah Shows Us How To Pick The Perfect Gown For The Oscars (VIDEO)

WATCH: Oprah Shows Us How To Pick An Oscar Gown!

The 2013 Academy Awards ceremony, aka Hollywood's biggest fashion show, is just a few days away.

We can only imagine what our favorite starlets are going through as they start making the final decision on their red carpet looks. While we're patiently waiting for the big reveals, Oprah Winfrey is giving us a look back in a newly released behind-the-scenes video of her dress selection process with fashion designer Zac Posen's team for the 2011 Oscars.

"I wanted a dress that was beautiful, but that wasn't saying 'Hey, look at me, look at me, look at me!'" Oprah says.

However, Zac isn't known for designing dresses that fly under the radar. Remember Elle McPherson's ivory stunner or Reese Whiterspoon's red-hot number at the 2012 Golden Globes?

The custom-made, blueish-grey gown that Zac created for Oprah was right in line with the regal style that we're used to seeing from the 59-year-old. With its three-quarter sleeves and off-the-shoulder, detailing the dress runs the risk of looking more mother-of-the-bride than Hollywood star. But what the bodice lacked in pizazz is certainly made up for with the dazzling beaded skirt.

It's a hoot to see Oprah trying on the gown, getting the design nipped and tucked in all the right places--and sending a video message to Zac explaining her alterations and desire for "just a little hint of cleavage." Piece of cake. After all, Zac prides himself in designing for "women with bodies." Hooray to that!

We wonder what she'll wear this year...
