Otis College's 29th Annual Scholarship Benefit And Fashion Show

PHOTOS: Bob Mackie, Santa Monica Place Honored At Otis Benefit

Otis College of Art and Design hosted its annual Scholarship Benefit and Fashion Show Saturday, May 7 at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills. The event included the largest fashion show in LA, featuring 160 looks from designed by juniors and seniors in Otis' fashion department. Students designed the garments under the mentorship of fashion designers like Cynthia Rowley, Ken Kaufman and Isaac Franco. Big names in the fashion world, like Bob Mackie and Marie Mazelis (creative director for Max Azria and Herve Leger), as well as author Agapi Stassinopoulos were among the 800 guests in attendance.

The Benefit also included a dinner and awards ceremony. Otis recognized individuals and companies for their achievements in worlds of fashion and design with Otis design awards. Designer and Otis mentor Bob Mackie received the 2011 Otis Design Legend Award, while the 2011 Creative Vision Award was presented to Art Coppola, CEO of Macerich Company, for the design of Santa Monica Place. The event raised over $800,000 for art and design scholarships for Otis.
