'Our Idiot Brother' Trailer: Paul Rudd In New Indie Comedy (VIDEO)

Paul Rudd Is An Idiot

Paul Rudd is an idiot.

On film, of course.

Rudd stars in the new indie comedy "Our Idiot Brother," as Ned, a lovable, modern-day hippie who gets thrown in the slammer after selling marijuana to a uniformed police officer. Of course, Ned thought he was just being nice to an officer who had a hard week, making it an act that sums up his good intentioned but childishly naive personality.

After getting out of jail, Ned shows up on his sisters doorsteps, ready to enter -- and sweetly ruin -- their lives. With Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer playing the sisterly trio, director Jesse Peretz's quirky indie with a unique spin on family has a solid cast and a very solid first trailer.

The film, which made its premiere at Sundance this past winter, is Rudd's first effort since the poorly received romantic comedy "How Do You Know." He'll appear, after "Our Idiot Brother," in another romantic comedy, this time with Jennifer Aniston in a film called "Wanderlust." Rudd was recently cast in the film adaptation of the book "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," and will star in the "Knocked Up" spinoff planned by producer Judd Apatow.
